Course description

This qualification is for people with specialized ICT skills. They can use these skills in different industries, business areas, or as independent contractors.

It covers roles such as:

  • Cyber Security: Keeping data safe and making emergency plans.
  • Business Analysis: Setting up technical requirements and quality checks for businesses.

To be successful in ACE, international Students are mandatory to effectuate the following requirements:

  1. Academic Requirements

  2. English requirements

  3. GS Requirements

Entry Requirements for international students

  • Students must be at least 18 years old 
  • Students must have completed year 12 or equivalent

English Requirements

  • IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 (no band less than 5.5), with results from the last 2 years or equivalent English test.
  • Alternative Proof:
    • 5 years of education in an English-speaking country, or
    • Successful completion of an English Placement Test. 

GS Requirements

The genuine student  requirement (GS) is an integrity measure to ensure that the Student visa Program is used as intended and not used by international students as a way of maintaining de facto permanent residency in Australia. The GS requirement applies to all student visa applicants.

In order to be granted a student visa, applicants must satisfy the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs (DHA) that they have a genuine intention to study in Australia  and only for the purpose of study.

In assessing the GS requirements, DHA will consider the requirements set out in Ministerial Direction 106. This requires DHA to be satisfied that the student visa applicant genuinely intends to study and having regard to:

1-The applicant’s circumstances in their home country

2-The applicant’s potential circumstances in Australia

3-Previous study in Australia 

4-The value of the course to the applicant’s future

5-The applicant’s immigration history

6-If the applicant is a minor – the intention of a parent, legal guardian or spouse of the applicant

7-Any other relevant matters

The course is delivered across 78 weeks Face to Face (includes 60 weeks of training and assessment, divided into 6 terms of 10 weeks each, plus 18 weeks of holidays.)

We have our campus located at L5, 56/58 York St, Sydney NSW 2000 where all the courses are delivered face to face.

Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. Assessments methods may include:

  • Projects/ case study, ICT Practical
  • Observations and demonstrations, short written knowledge and web-based research and report
  • Practical demonstration

RPL and credit transfer (CT) can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation and the original or certified copy must be provided. Please contact our admission and academic team to assess your eligibility for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT).

Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security). Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security).

Under mutual recognition, the Certificate qualification and Statement of Attainment awarded by Australian College of Excellence will be recognized by other RTOs Australia wide. Upon successful completion of this course, students have several pathway options:

After completing ICT50220 – Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security), students may wish to continue their education into the ICT60220 – Advanced Diploma of Information Technology or may progress to higher education courses.
