Course description

This qualification is for a senior civil works designer or para-professional designer who supports engineers. They manage complex tasks, plan strategically, and design intricate projects. Requirements can vary by location and industry, so check with the relevant authority before applying.

Entry Requirements for International Students:

1. You must be at least 18 years old and have completed Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.

2. Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.

English Proficiency:

– IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 (no band less than 5.5), with results from the last 2 years.

Alternative Proof:

– 5 years of education in an English-speaking country, or

– Successful completion of an English Placement Test.

Academic Requirements

  • Students must be at least 18 years old 
  • Students must have completed year 12 or equivalent

GS Requirements

The genuine student  requirement (GS) is an integrity measure to ensure that the Student visa Program is used as intended and not used by international students as a way of maintaining de fact permanent residency in Australia. The GS requirement applies to all student visa applicants.

In order to be granted a student visa, applicants must satisfy the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs (DHA) that they have a genuine intention to study in Australia  and only for the purpose of study.

In assessing the GS requirements, DHA will consider the requirements set out in Ministerial Direction 106. This requires DHA to be satisfied that the student visa applicant genuinely intends to study and having regard to:

1-The applicant’s circumstances in their home country

2-The applicant’s potential circumstances in Australia

3-Previous study in Australia 

4-The value of the course to the applicant’s future

5-The applicant’s immigration history

6-If the applicant is a minor – the intention of a parent, legal guardian or spouse of the applicant

7-Any other relevant matters

The course is delivered across 104 weeks, 80 study weeks and 24 term break weeks. The students are required to complete 20 contact hours with Each college for each scheduled academic week with face-to-face delivery over 2.5 days. 

We have our campus located at L5, 56/58 York St, Sydney NSW 2000 where all the courses are delivered face to face.

Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. Assessments methods may include:

  • role-plays / case studies
  • short answer questions


Assessment conditions will ensure a simulated workplace environment.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT)

RPL and credit transfer (CT) can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation and the original or certified copy must be provided. A fee is payable for assessing your RPL status or processing your credit transfer. please contact our admission team for further information. Please contact our admission and academic team to assess your eligibility for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT).

Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design. Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design.

Students who complete RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design may wish to continue their education into a range of Graduate Diploma qualifications, as well as higher education qualifications in Civil Construction.
